Each year I take some time off from traveling and participating in some crazy sports that most people call extreme sports. I like to take that time off to spend with family and usually my time off coincides with winter because I am no fan of cold weather. I am a sports junkie and an adrenaline seeker, but it is definitely great to get a break here and there. While I am on the break there is one thing I do not want to happen though. I do not want to get out of shape so that I have to recondition my body after each and every break.

Staying in top physical condition is important for all people in my opinion. It is especially important for athletes and recreational sports players. While I do believe in relaxation, I in no way want to show up to an ocean with huge waves unable to even paddle out to surf. No, I want to be able to take it on instantly. So how do I keep up with my fitness when I’m not living an extreme life?

Easy, I perform high intensity interval training, or HIIT. HIIT is a type of exercise that is sweeping the nation with things like Insanity and Tabata. Find out more about it below.

If you have ever thought of winter sports such as snowboarding and skiing as being a little on the boring side, we’ve got some really extreme winter sports to tell you about. Slegooning is a an extreme winter sport that you might find very interesting. In this sport, participants zip rapidly down a snow covered slopes in single person sleds with protective roll bars called Slegoons. These people are in full-contact races, and can continue even when overturned. It’s one of the most cutting edge sledding sports in the world, but it’s not for the faint of heart.

Another extreme winter sport, ice diving, allows experienced scuba divers to apply their mad skills — under the ice. There is only one approved place for this in Switzerland, where three holes are cut in the ice in the beginning of the season, and the site is carefully and safely maintained between December and April. The only people allowed to participate are experienced divers with a diving certificate, and responsibility for safety is each person’s own. This is one of the most dangerous winter sports on earth and should never be attempted casually, and everyone’s home should enjoy ADT Security. Below, enjoy some beautiful photography taken by ice divers.

Yesterday morning sad news broke out as it was learned that beloved motocross freestyle rider, Jim McNeil passed away after sustaining serious injuries during practice for an exhibition that was to take place at the Texas Motor Speedway before the NASCAR race. The exhibition was just one of the many stops on the Boost FMX team’s tour with dates all over world.

After the accident, Jim McNeil was air lifter to the hospital in Fort Worth where he was pronounced dead. McNeil was only 32 years old, and he had been a member of the Boost Mobile FMX team for the last nine years. He got his start in motocross events in 1987 and appeared in the X Games for the first time in 2005. Jim was lovingly known as “McNeil The Real Deal” by friends and fellow riders. Not only will we remember him for his amazing stunts and riding, but he will also be remembered for the fact that he was an amazing person overall. There are few people as warm and sincere as Jim McNeil was.

In honor of Jim McNeil and as a way to pay tribute to him, many have created memorial videos featuring some of his amazing stunts. Rest in peace, Jim McNeil.

Is it the new extreme sport?

I think not. The other day I found this video that offered underwater skateboarding. I thought that maybe there was something that I was missing out on so I watched these kids in a pool full of water basically just hopping around and floating with a skateboard around their feet. It was not that interesting at all. Skateboarders have been using empty pools to skate in since the beginning, and these kids got it wrong when they tried to use the pool when it was filled. Watch the failed attempt below, and under that check out a sweet video on flowboarding that is a much more exciting water activity.

Flowboarding is the sport that you get when you combine surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, skateboarding, and other board sports that you can think of. It is done in a type of pool with a serious wave that the rider rides to do tricks and stunts. There is not a lot of space needed for the boarder to be able to maneuver and perform tricks. In fact, a common place for people to come across the “sheet wave” pools is on a cruise ship. Everyone can have fun flowboarding.

Now there are lots of different types of these action sports today in the lineup with skydiving there is also ice climbing a sport that, you guessed it, involves climbing on ice. The trick is that unlike regular mountain climbing there are less stable foot holds on the ice to make more of a challenge. Ironically, road cycling has the highest number of recorded injuries and is not considered an extreme sport, although many would argue it has as many thrills as skydiving, snowboarding or playing a high-stakes tournament at http://www.poker.de/ (somewhat less of an extreme sport, but thrilling nonetheless). There are several criteria to determine an extreme sport one of which is that it has to be counter-cultural which is why road cycling is not included. Other criteria include a high level of physical exertion, specialized gear, and of course a high level of danger.

Are you tired of watching or playing the same old sports, football, baseball, on and on the list goes. Well here is a new idea, try some extreme sports known the around world for the ability to get people injured as well as being some of the most exciting sports today. Now a warning to the faint of heart if you are not totally committed to ,for example, jumping out of an airplane ,known as skydiving, then don’t try it not only might you be injured but you will also make a fool of yourself by backing out at the last minute. But for the few out there who have absolutely nothing to live for go ahead I hear it’s a very good view.
Now there are lots of different types of these action sports today in the lineup with skydiving there is also ice climbing a sport that, you guessed it, involves climbing on ice. The trick is that unlike regular mountain climbing there are less stable foot holds on the ice to make more of a challenge. Ironically, road cycling has the highest number of recorded injuries and is not considered an extreme sport. There are several criteria to determine an extreme sport one of which is that it has to be counter-cultural which is why road cycling is not included. Other criteria include a high level of physical exertion, specialized gear, and of course a high level of danger.

The X games like the Olympics are a series of these extreme sports together and the competitors are judged on their performance. Also like the Olympics they have both a winter and summer game for the respective sports. The sport of windsurfing would be a little uncomfortable in the middle of January and ice climbing would be almost impossible in July. In both summer and winter the X games have gained popularity and complexity since there founding in 1995.

If you are looking to get into an extreme sport you might want to consider taking lessons. Due to the dangerous nature of the sports the safest way to get into them is to start with a teacher. Take care to check the competence of your teacher beforehand lest you end up in a vegetative state. Although most of these sports require specialized equipment recently a new sport has popped up called Parkour which requires neither equipment nor a teacher. The point is simple they navigate obstacles in the quickest way possible using only their bodies, vaulting, rolling, and swinging are employed and not leaving a trail is also very important in the sport because of it origination from a military background.

So if after reading this you say to yourself these people are crazy then this sport is probably not for you, but don’t fret there are still lots of sports out there for a weakling like you. However if you read this and get excited then you might want to sign up for a sport somewhere near you.

Sports have always remained an integral part in the daily lives of the people, no matter from which part of the world they belong. There are many kinds of both indoor and outdoor sports that are equally popular in all the regions of the world like soccer, athletics, tennis, hockey, volleyball, table tennis and etc. Apart from these, lots of people around the globe are fascinated about the extreme sports as well.

Extreme sports offers thrill with lots of risk and danger. This kind of sports is also referred as adventure sports or action sports. Normally, there is an element of danger while involving in any of the extreme sports activity. Some of the most common extreme sports are ice skating, mountain climbing, gliding, ski jumping, ski diving, aggressive inline skating, bungee jumping, wind surfing, high wire, BMX, power boat racing and land yachting. While activities such as mountain boarding and mountain biking, sand boarding, snow boarding, speed biking, scooter racing, cliff diving, caving, open water swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, white water kayaking, kite surfing, motor cross and many more like them are also considered as extreme sports.

Many regions around the world are known for organizing different extreme sports activities. There are many countries which offer special training courses for those who want to participate in the extreme sports. A good example in this regard is of Mexico which is renowned for teaching kite surfing. Besides that Australia and New Zealand are rated as one of the best places for coaching paragliding and paramotoring, Spain is known for offering specialized training for scuba diving and same goes for Mauritius which is famous for offering professional training of skydiving which they do in all four seasons of the year.

Apart from the sheer excitement which these sporting activities provide to the participants and spectators, there is lot of fun as well that is involved during the process. In these adventure sports, the players are competing with the other players as well as with some uncontrollable variables like weather due to which along with the exciting moments some really funny instants are also taken place.

A much related example is of a newly introduced action sport in Great Britain which is known as horse boarding. In this game the person uses a mountain board on which he positioned himself. He gripped a rope which is attached with the back of the horse and the person requires balancing himself when the horse is running. It is estimated that a person can maintain a maximum speed of around 70 km while boarding behind the running horse.

However in this extreme sport, it is difficult to decide that which player needs more applause or a tap on the back. As at the end of the day both the horse and the person on mountain board are drenched and dripping wet similarly.

There is a lot of extreme sports in todays society like parachuting, base jumping, extreme cross. The extreme sports usually is accompanied with some extreme gear or transportation device. There is one sports that does not need anything to participate in it. Free running requires of no special gear, you can do it anywhere, and this sport builds your body as well as your mind.

Free Running is a sports like any other it comes from a very similar sport called Pakour that is a non competitive way to get from one place to another. Free running while it has elements or techniques from Pakour, but it is a separate sport. Free running does not need any special equipment all you need is your self and the streets. A practitioner of this extreme sport, can start by walking, flipping, running, jumping, climbing, off of buildings, houses, business, walls, parks and can express and be part of it.

One of the best things about free running is that people can do it anywhere. The world is your playground where ever and whenever all you need to do is project your vision and start. From a park bench, a wall, a car and staircase you can build your own world to play. Incorporate gymnastics, how to land and balance, and voila you have Free-running moves. There are basic moves one must learn in order not to get hurt like the landing where it is recommended never to land flat footed only on the toes and the bold of the feet or whole footed and bending the knees when toes make contact with the floor. In the movie the Prince of Persia the Sands of Time the use of Free running is noticeable all over the movie the Prince deflect attackers and followers with the use of free Running.

The creator of Free Running Sebastien Foucan defines free running as a discipline of self development, following your own way. People can see that this sport develops the body as well as the mind. Physical attributes like a body in good shape are just a few of the benefits of doing Free Running. Your mind has to be involved in a creative process to think what move can be created in an environment. Moves like the dash vault, under-bar, and Dive roll are nothing if your mind does not decide where to used them in an effective and fun manner.

Free running is very similar to parkour despite the creators dissimilar approach. There has been an effort to create places to practice parkour and free running, but the athletes are unacceptable to take off their freedom of the streets. This sport of Free Running is being practiced worldwide and has gained the acceptance of Movies, Comic Books, and mainstream media. Comic Books that have free running include Nightrunner a friend of Batman and Free-runner practitioner. The Sport will continue to grow and be on the streets if a person has a glance of a couple of kids flipping over stuff, jumping on walls as well as climbing it, and doing gymnastic moves over rails and staircases then chances are this person is taking a glance of a Free Running Athlete.
